So you've bought battlefield? Don't know how to play? Well you've come to the right place, I'll be writing a few articles on how to play BFBC2 and some tricks. You can also find out more by talking to us on our teamspeak 3 server! This first article will help you get your settings right and get you playing!
The first thing you need to do once you've installed the game and created an account is set up your controls properly. The default settings are rather out of the ordinary compared to other games so I'll go over the ones I advise you to change:
Once your controls are set up nicely you can try out the game! If you further wish to tweak your mouse or graphical settings you can do this on the main Settings tab. The only Tip here is how to enable the advanced settings, do this by going to Settings - Video - Overall Quality - Advanced. The advanced settings will show up on the right hand side.
How to Play
In this portion I will be talking about the multiplayer, the singleplayer is up to you to explore. The first thing I can warn you about is when you first start playing the game you are going to suck! The game needs some getting used to and some basic items need unlocking.
Anyway when you join a server the first thing you see is a kind of limbo menu. You can also acess this menu by pressing Enter. Here you can select your squad, class, which weapons you spawn with and where you are going to spawn.
A. The minimap with you teams location, the objectives and the spotted enemies locations. B. The squad menu where you can create, join or leave a squad C. The spawn menu, click one of the tabs to spawn there, you can also spawn on your squad members. D. Select you class E. The weapons menu, where you can choose your layout, in the beginning you won't have any extra weapons or gadgets.
So first select a class, select a spawn and then click Enter Battle. The 'annoying' thing about this spawn system is that you often have to keep reclicking where you want to spawn. When you're ready to spawn click the Enter battle button and it will turn greyish, you can also do this during the count down, then you will spawn asap, unless the spawn you picked becomes unavailible (for example : a player you want to spawn next to died).
The first class I'd suggest playing is the engineer, this is a good class to get a feel for the game, but also helping your team at the same time. The engineers primary job is dealing with vehicles. More specifically repairing teammates vehicles and blowing up the enemies vehicles!
